Kim, I don't think that was a serious proposal, but I'll comment anyway. In order to comply with all the environmental regulations concerning our National Forests, we would need to spend many thousands of dollars on Environmental Impact Studies, being sure to include the needed access road for the heavy trucks to get in to do soil-boring samples before allowing a Septic system or Well to be drilled. Outhouses and hand-dug Wells are not acceptable anymore. Then to build a 'cottage' to current building standards..... Top of the head estimate...10 years time and $200,000 for a 10X12 foot shack.
