Spam does sell a lot.  If it didn't, there would not be any spam.
I find it most ironic to see spam messages for antispam software.

Its all about the money. Mass mailings / spam get an average of about 1%
return.  These mass mailing groups send out millions of emails.  1% of a
million is a lot of money and that just 1 product.

If no one bought stuff from spam, the market would dry up.
