Hi Mike, As I posted a few months ago, the environmental 'elite' are not the only ones crying wolf about biodiesel. The anarchist (and mostly excellent) indymedia.org [?] ran an article titled something like "Biodiesel will kill Thousands!"
It made no mention of the fact that biodiesel is the perfect 'locally produced' fuel, and therefore a real tool towards social change against monopolistic forces. Instead, it only warned of future use of food land for corporate fuel production, which is a valid argument, but should be balanced with the progressive and positive attributes of biodiesel.
