I think an Important point  is being being missed by all here.

Yes WE know that FF1.5 has SVG turned on by default and WE know that the 
support is not complete yet. But and this is pretty important Mozilla 
have not mentioned that FF1.5 has SVG support in its promotional and 
advertising stuff to the public, presumably because they know its not 
completely ready yet.

So we as content developers can use the bits that are there if we want, 
to add additional stuff to our systems, within the limits of what is 
currently available. But the public is not going to notice that it not 
quite finished yet, so no one loses out (apart from a bit of extra 
development and thinking).

In fact the only people that this would cause a problem for  is anyone 
silly enough to tell  a paying customer that FF1.5 was going to have 
full SVG1.1 support (and they never said that was going to be the case).

FF1.5 gives us an additional way of delivering many of the great things 
SVG has to offer but it does it silently and with out fuss so as long as 
at the moment we only try to use what is available and write stuff that 
works (use switch statements etc.) everything will be fine.

Mozilla have given us a great tool and eventually it will be a complete 
one as well.
