Sean,

Have you set the SVG MIME type on your server? I've run into this 
issue twice before, and neither server had SVG/SVGZ set as a MIME 
type.

I always send server admins to this page to get info on setting the 
MIME type:
http://www.svgfaq.com/ServerGen.asp
