Thanks Eric for your quick and informative response. As far as panning goes, I like the alt-key drag and drop functionality that's provided in Adobe's SVG viewer.
And when it comes to zooming, I also like how ASV works (ctrl-key- click to zoom in, or, select a region to zoom in on <-- very powerful, helpful feature). ASV also zooms in *and* recenters depending on where you ctrl-clicked. But in addition to how ASV functions, it would be nice to add some precision, i.e. say you want to zoom in exactly 37%. Currently, I'm not aware of anything in ASV that allows that sort of functionality short of writing your own JavaScript to accomplish it. And as long as I've got your ear, I'd say that the ability to find text and select/copy text in SVG is *extremely* important. If you can't find text, or find next text, or select it, or copy it, what good is SVG? Isn't just like jpg or png or gif if the text is inaccessible? Also, when you hit ctrl-F (or whatever) and the find text box comes up, the input field should be prefilled with your previous search string <-- good time saver. Firefox's ctrl-F works best: it doesn't cover the webpage, it starts the search as soon as you've typed a couple of letters, it has find next, find previous, and, very nice: highlight all. OK, I'm done wishlisting. Hope the feedback helps. And good work so far.
