Thanks. That looks like a start. The first link is for iframes - not quite the same as frames; and I knew they were still going to be around. The frameset element is good news. I'm going to have to see how that's used. I had seen documents (don't remember where now, just found during google search) saying frames (not iframes) were gone for good in html5. The link to framesets gives me hope. I'm using SVG for the animated graphics parts of my apps, but there's a lot of dynamic logic and text in and out to them too. Using frames for sub-components and simple text into divs makes a lot of sense. Even if I have to use iframes (an unnecessary step), I want the higher level frameset to define the overall structure - not a more painful part by part definition in each iframe.
