Yes, indeed.  For the work I have been doing up to now the Perl 
method has been adequate, having the advantage that I am familiar 
with Perl,  but JavaScript obviously has many advantages and 
interactive features that are impossible to apply using Perl.  Thank 
you for the link, which will be most useful.
