I think I know what the general problem is: digital sound isn't working at
all. Eye of the Beholder I and II do not use the Sound Blaster's digital
sound capability at all, so you'd never notice it if digital sound as a
whole doesn't work.

As for what the specific problem is: there's not enough information to
diagnose the problem. I don't even know if this person is trying to run
the game in real DOS or in Windows-fake-DOS. Or what kind of Sound
Blaster this is. EOB3's somewhat flaky install program has given me fits
in the past, but its sound install seems to be reasonably robust. You can
give me as a contact person for help (if you can't give it yourself).

(Did you tell her that getting digitized sound to work is sometimes
actually impossible, barring getting completely new hardware or resorting
to some emulation scheme? One of my friends has a Windows box that has
Sound Blaster emulation, except that it will only work for IRQ 9, and not
for the usual IRQ 7 or 5. This is of ... limited utility for playing
older games.)
