Answering myself here, I created a simple Flash app consisting of just one dynamic text box. ActionScript is a setInterval to 50 milliseconds, calling a function that increments a number that is then displayed in the text box.
Without exception, at about 3.5 to 4.5 seconds there was a short delay (approx one half of a second) in updating the numbers when I opened the SWF in a new instance of Firefox. So, this issue appears to not be related to FLV playback at all, or even SWFObject. I tested on both XP and Vista. Maybe both have bad installs of Flash, and though that's a stretch, I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling. I can't believe I'm the only one experiencing this, but if so (not too much about it on Google that I can find), I'll just ignore it. But if someone could create the same quick test that would be great. (For ref I'm using Flash 8.) -- Gordon --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SWFObject" group.
