So, you have a few potential issues with your page which mean it cannot
resize.

1) you are setting your swf at a static size : width="1200" height="400" (which
makes me think perhaps you did not understand (or read?) how % based sizing
works from the link Sam provided)
2) you are using a modified old version of swfobject ( I am unsure where you
sourced it from etc, or what bugs/inconsistencies it may have in it). Please
use an official build from the project page (2.2. being the latest)


You should really re-read
http://learnswfobject.com/advanced-topics/100-width-and-height-in-browser/as
it has all the info you need in it. The only difference is that the
examples in the tut are stretching to 100% of the browser size. You just
want to to have your swf scale to 100% of it's wrapper div size (this
wrapper div can be a fixed size, or itself a % of page). It is also
important to pay attention to the scale modes mentioned in regards to
controlling HOW you swf scales.
