I don't get this. You press keyboard keys, and the system magically knows
that you want to enter data? What kind of data? And why on a popup, instead
of a dialog? What is on your 'main screen'?
And the thing about needing a scrollbar confuses me too. (The crossposting
isn't confusing, simply annoying.)

a user input some characters. The items of the popup should begin
with the characters the user has enters.
