Probably we should open a closed mailing list like we did for LI and
BBCS...

May I step in with a somewhat related idea. Some of you are/were subscribed to the now mostly inactive spam-ch mailinglist. This list was set up some two (or is it three?) years ago with the goal to establish a somewhat private communication channel for (spam-related) abuse issues.

On the remaining spam-ch list and at some real-life occasions I suggested that such a list is a Good Thing, but should be better embedded in the community, the most obvious choice being Swinog (currently it's privately hosted at verboten.net).

What are the views of the broader Swinog community on this? Would Swinog be ready to host such a list?

IMO the focus of this list would be mostly spam-specific, but should also include more general abuse issues (even more so since spam and virus issues tend to merge).

Another related note: Industry-specific black-, white-, gray-, whatevercolor-lists are a good idea, but are often not understood. I'm currently trying to set up something like that for a customer in financial services. If you have contacts which may be interested, please contact me off list.
