Sort of. It's also called a "positive feedback cycle". If you as server 
administrators show support for SPF, tool smiths will in turn create more 
tools (namely support for their MTAs, spam filters etc.) for SPF. And with 
more tools available for SPF more people will create SPF records :) SPF might 
not yet be standardized, but my stomach feeling tells me its the right thing 
to do.

Obviously for the positive feedback to work you need to believe in SPF. I

There is a qmail MTA patch for this, but basically the same rule applies to 
SPF as it does to RBL and other methods of detecting spam: Use it in a 
scoring system like SA. With the advent of SA 3.0 stable we have SPF support 
which will obviously only work if you publish SPF records :)

The only MTA-specific thing you need to ensure is that your MTA passes on a 
mail header for the Envelope From so SA can parse that value:
