What will save broadcasting is the desire to get information out to a large number of people at a reasonable cost. The technology used is not the issue. For shortwave use, DRM in a monophonic mode (i.e. low bit rate) is the way to go. If DRM licensing fees were made lower than it will be used more in my humble opinion.
