Hi Mark:

I'm not so sure I am the guy with the "technical wizardry" to figure  
such a thing out, but it appears to me that all of these devices  
utilize a web gateway for this.  The radios themselves have little  
storage capacity of their own.  There also are some challenges within  
the "genre" itself that makes the use of a gateway optimal.  For  
example, it appears that some stations have a tendency to change  
their audio urls and the use of a gateway (properly monitored and  
updated) helps to make the new urls quickly or even dynamically updated.

Change, as has been said, is the only constant in life.
