Philo Agora's talk next Tuesday Tuesday, August 19 will be Peter Bowden on Naked Children, Moral Philosophy and Photographs

He will attempt to examine the moral and ethical issues behind the recent photos of naked children in the light of the beliefs of moral philosophers over time - Mill, Kant, Socrates and others. The Bill Henson and Olympia Nelson photographs in particular will be discussed, plus the question of whether the arts community (or anybody else), can meet the Minister's request for protocols.

Peter Bowden teaches ethics at Sydney University and is on the National Committee for the Australian Association of Professional and Applied Ethics. He is a founding member of Philo Agora.
