hmm.. Actually it was Lukas' argument that got me in for the change.
If we decide for PHP as the template engine it is to be expected that most bundles out there will use it. Once a developer chooses Twig for his projects most of these Bundles will no longer work for him without some extra work. This will probably keep a lot of people actively using Twig which would be a shame. So while there is yet another learning curve for SF2 beginners I think it's only a little tradeoff compared to the alternative.
