+1 for refactoring the solve() strategy system to be more like dsolve's. I have found it to be extremely flexible (of course, I am the one who wrote it :). I almost always find myself calling dsolve() with 'all', which returns a dict of all possible matching solutions, and then looking through them to see which one I like best (though the 'best' result is almost always the same one that I ended up liking most). It also gives good insight to how things are working internally, like telling you the type of the ode and even showing unevaluated Integrals, instead of just a solution, which is much more educational.
