I can essentially guarantee that there will be no backwards incompatible
*interface* changes in mpmath.
As for bugs, it would obviously help to continue using SymPy's testing
infrastructure to test mpmath together with SymPy in various
configurations, regardless of whether it is bundled or not. (The long
process of verifying that mpmath works on many different systems is one of
the reasons that I haven't made a new release in a very long time, the
primary reason being a general lack of time.)
