I'm looking at this. I feel that constants should not absorb other parameters, as those parameters may be interpretted as coordinates in some larger manifold.

I have a simple solution to the problem of bad constant renumbering
but http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=2209
has me a little hung-up -- should expression reorganization really be bound up with the constant renumbering?
