hi
thank you for your answer
some missing points:
for example i wanted to check zen.spamhaus.org
they dont explain how to query they databases, just how to NOT query it :)
they also refer to some applications that use them for spam blocking
but dont explain how i can do it myself
i didnt understand what QType i should use with synapse, for this query
i noticed that dnsQuery tries to connect to 127.0.0.1, why would it
if i want to query zen.spamhouse.org ?
the command i used was: dnssend.dnsquery('zen.spamhaus.org',QTYPE_AXFR,res);
i used QTYPE_AXFR bcoz in synapse i read:
"Type for zone transfers QTYPE_AXFR is supported too, but only in TCP mode!"
what am i missing?

On the most basic level, both are (usually, though other methods exist)
done using DNS queries, so the answer is "yes, Synapse supports the
thing you're asking on 'some' level (the most basic one; you need to
figure out the specifics yourself:)". However, you'll need to check the
corresponding BL database's website/faq/rules/whatever to know what
their answer(s) to your quer(y/ies) mean.
Usually, the answer using 127.0.0.x range, where the x is the "result"
of what you're trying to check. But, you really want to make certain
you're
a) asking the right thing and
b) interpreting the answer correctly
Also note, that BLs come and go... there are some BLs that list *every*
query you perform on them as "listed", which, (most of the time) isn't
true.
