Up to 4096 should be no problem 0xd000 - 0xdfff. Of course we can use other bases, too. So the pure number doesn't scare me yet. > 2) Accept, in some cases, to lost the type of the entrys so I must to > add only approximately 22 new entrys. I had the same idea, when I started, but that's more or less the same dilemma like in 4) > 4) Try to store any unknown entire entry into one fields and attach it > to the vcard without parse it. This require approximately 1 new entrys. The advantage of dedicated IDs would be, that apps that know how to handle CE would easily be able to interprete the additional fields, without having to implement a vCard parser. Also I think it's more consistent what we already have. > There is others possible solutions ? Yes, a mixture of 1) and 3) X-AIM;TYPE=HOME;X-EVOLUTION-UI-SLOT=1:aim => ID_MESSAGING_AIM_HOME ID_MESSAGING_AIM_HOME_META (or _EVOLUTION whatever) That would separate the data from the metadata. It would still be possible for other apps to get the (real) data. For WORK,HOME etc. I still vote for dedicated IDs, it's more native to the device I think. Additionally the formats of evolution and kontact should be consolidated, but that discussion has to take place somewhere else. rgds -- e-Trolley Sayegh & John, Nabil Sayegh Tel.: 0700 etrolley /// 0700 38765539 Fax.: +49 69 8299381-8 PGP : www.e-trolley.de ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
