Hi,
Basically, things _should_ improve as Opensync 0.3x matures. The problem here is not SynCE so much as the kdepim plugin on the OpenSync side. Our OpenSync plugin converts data from the Windows Mobile device effectively into a neutral format. OpenSync then passes this data to a plugin on the 'other' side, for example evo2-sync for evolution, or kdepim for KDE. It is this plugin that performs the conversion to the platform-specific format. Opensync do not yet appear to have stabilized their intermediate format or the plugins yet, even the 0.3x evolution plugin has errors. So, I guess the best thing to tell him at the moment is to either (assuming he uses WM5/6 - I am not that familiar with the legacy environments): - use SynCE from SVN with the last Opensync 0.2x and kdepim (I don't use kdepim myself, but I believe it works reasonably well (Richard, is it kdepim that you use? If so maybe you could pass comment here?). - offer services to the Opensync folks as a kdepim plugin developer :-) - If he has the time and doesn't mind setting up a test environment, help me debug the Opensync 0.3x support in sync-engine using a kdepim backend. The more testers, the quicker the fixes will come. John. On Thu, 2007-12-20 at 08:24 +0100, David Eriksson wrote: > Hi everyone! > > It sounds like this KDE user is in despair.
