Hi. I just committed a fix to sync-engine's setup.py[0] to find the right OpenSync plugin directory using "pkg-config opensync-1.0 --variable=plugindir", or complain with a message if that fails.
First of all, any objections, questions, things I may have overlooked? Next, this is primarily for John Gow: Both opensync plugins go into the same directory, and looking at them both, one can see that they are both named "synce-plugin". Therefore, with them both present, "msynctool --listplugins" will come up with two entries for "synce-plugin". Therefore, I am proposing their names are changed to "synce-plugin-pre-0.30" and "synce-plugin-0.30", or something like that. Agreed?
