I think you are talking about Horde and derivatives. I've tested against them at some point. Overall quality was average. > btw. It seems that decent Synthesis costs almost 50$ for android.... > > > :( no that is not an option, this solution should be free.. I understand the reluctance to rely on a closed source solution. But why does it have to be free as in free beer? Let me put it very bluntly: why do you think you are entitled to someone else's time and money to develop such a solution for you? If you don't want to pay Synthesis (who, after all, made their source code available so that free/libre software like SyncEvolution could be built), then you'll have to pay with your time instead, by identifying bugs, asking Funambol for help and/or submitting patches for the free software that you want to use. There's no free lunch. My own time for assisting with this is limited. Regarding the Funambol clients, the main problem is that they make assumptions about a "configuration" data source on the server, which only exists in Funambol servers: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=4FFD4290.5070401%40funambol.com&forum_name=funambol-discussions One could try to emulate that by configuring a file-based source in the SyncEvolution server: syncevolution --configure \ --source-property type=file:text/plain \ --source-property evolutionsource=file://${datapath}/configuration \ --source-property sync=two-way \ ${peer} configuration Whether that helps is unknown. Funambol has not responded to questions about what that source is supposed to contain. -- Best Regards, Patrick Ohly The content of this message is my personal opinion only and although I am an employee of Intel, the statements I make here in no way represent Intel's position on the issue, nor am I authorized to speak on behalf of Intel on this matter. _______________________________________________ SyncEvolution mailing list [email protected] http://lists.syncevolution.org/listinfo/syncevolution
