I've never been able to use the text tool in Synfig due to the dancing
letters issue - I wanted to use it on my Nationwide titles but found I
couldn't. Therefore from a purely personal point of view if the text tool
in Synfig changes it won't affect me at all and I'd welcome any new
functionality it offers.
I don't think the text tool as it stands in Synfig Studio was really
designed with typography in mind, whereas a proper text tool that utilises
Pango would be far more attractive and something I would find very useful
indeed.
So I agree with David and Tim on this.
