Hi, Justin,

I am not an expert here, haven't tried yet. (Though may have to in near future).
Your report seems paraphraseable like "bug is in the detail", a few items
strike
my attention:

This seems like an error in automounter configuration. The "1" in directory size
indicates that automounter is processing this path, and hasn't mounted anything
yet. Check the windows event viewer and solaris dmesg log, maybe something
would pop up. Maybe something about domain-login-password tuple. Finally, use
a sniffer to see at least that requests are going between machines...

Off the top of my head, your snippet here - did you type it for the post, or
did you
copy it from the shell terminal?

> # echo "/export/home/justine/lt-justine/c fstype-smbfs //lt-justine/c-drive"
> >>/etc/auto_direct

The "equals" sign seems missing in fstype=smbfs, and I usually see the second
column of mount options prepended with a "minus" character. That is:

/export/home/justine/lt-justine/c -fstype=smbfs //lt-justine/c-drive

Also, maybe you should try the UNC path with your login (in the syntax that
works
in manual mount)?

For example, you set the .nsmbrc file for the unprivileged user, but use the
SMF service (and mount) as root.

HTH,
//Jim
