only problem I've ever had with the LocalTalk bridge software is with my
PowerBooks running OS 8.1.I think the bridge is "unsupported" in Mac OS 8.1 and later. In other words, it may or may not work.
LocalTalk Bridge is compatible with System 7.1 and up, but is unsupported regardless of your version of system software. "Unsupported" does not mean it will not work; it means if you contact Apple, they will not help you with any problems you've encountered. LocalTalk Bridge used to be sold for money, so I'm perfectly happy with this free-but-unsupported arrangement. (It's a perfect example of the attitude we want software publishers to take -- make old "useless" software available for free but without support.)
The Apple Knowledge Base article mentions that it may be incompatible with Mac OS 8.5 and later, though they're not sure.
