So, just to clarify things, we
are really talking about a System 6 browser for Mac IIs and above, right?

I also have concerns that our love for early Macs is blinding us to the realities :-)


Even assembly code isn't going to make a 68K work like a G5, and even if it does work slowly it would be quickly relegated to the "cute" pile.

Better to concentrate on useful things more within the scope. My suggestion would be to write a AIM client. My sons are always on AIM chatting with friends. That could easily be done on a compact Mac: its text based, doesn't require color, doesn't require a big screen.

If we could have a version of MacTCP that could talk to a DHCP server that would also be very useful.
