Thanks for your response.

When the power supplies, internal HD and floppy sled
were removed on both Mac IIci(s), the batteries were
checked in both CPU(s).  They registered 3.5 and 3.6
volts respectively.

I understand but have no specific knowledge that when
a PRAM battery dies, you iwll not get a peep out of
the Mac or the sad face will be visible.  I got a
'peep' out of the Mac and do not know why but when I
get a staging area set up in a soon to be vacant room
in our house, I shall certainly explore the problem.
