I did try that... and it sort of worked -- I transfered an app and it came in as a text file -- I assume I have to stuff it or something...

I don't love the idea of enabling the FTP server on my G4 (from a security standpoint). In theory it would be ok in in a pinch, but it's still not any easier (or faster) than Sneakernetting w/ Zips.

Another way, which allows you to use a faster and more reliable
ethernet connection, is to start the FTP daemon on Mac OS X (it's
a simple check-box) and setup MacTCP and Fetch on the System 6 box.
