If it's the Comverse VMS, the VM notification is a system-wide (=per
voicemail system) setting, and I don't think it's settable per user.
But there must be other solutions. Since Matt already has a "special" mobile
phone that speaks, someone must have written the software for this. The MWI
is actually an SMS with a special flag set, and is interpreted by your phone
to show or delete the tape-recorder symbol on your idle screen. It shouldn't
be too difficult to write some software that intercepts this and puts a
short click (like a keypress click) once every minute or so...

Since TMO USA is about the only operator that uses regular SMS messages
instead of MWI, and there are many blind people around that are customers of
different GSM operators, I'd think that this problem must have been
addressed.

Matt, do you have more information about this talking phone of yours? I'd be
interesting to read about that...

Thanks,

Matt,

I wonder if there is any possibility of T-Mobile ever offering an
option on how to be notified? I have never heard of any cellular
provider that did give the choice but for your specific situation it
would be quite useful.
