The MWI notification is by market in which your account is activated.  If
MWI was working in Hawaii and you traveled there you would still get the
SMS.  Just like when I travel to Atlanta I still get SMS and ATL subs still
get MWI when traveling outside of former Powertel areas.

That is exactly what has been mentioned by some that they may wait until all
markets are cutover.  However from what was posted at Howard Forums an
internal message to employees regarding the cutover mentions:

"Customers will no longer receive a text message when they have a Voice Mail
message waiting. Instead, an icon will appear on the phone's screen."
