I had good results with bluetooth on my Toshiba laptop, connecting dialup via my SonyEricsson T610. Only problem I come up with is the T610 trying to act as a modem when I want to use it for voice calls. I cured this once by doing a reset, which I can't do now, as it won't accept what I thought should be the password. I may have to use my other phone for voice, once I figure out where I put it, and swap the SIM card as needed. I used the drivers that came with the bluetooth adapter and the T610. YMMV
