This is of course true of TracFone that uses CDMA or TDMA networks.
Some of the new TracFones use GSM and only use the cingular network.
That may be sufficient for a lot of the time but not nearly the
ubiquitous coverage that one might get with a combination of digital
and an analog with the other TracFone packages.
