I was going to get my grandson the G1 in spite of the G3 network not being in our state. When I went to upgrade I was surprised to see an addtional $18 charge plus tax and now the phone is over $210 and I'm not even sure I will get it in time for Christmas. Now I'm having second thoughs as I will have to extend my contract for 2 years. I'm also confused on that 400 message limitation as we are on the unlimited family plan. So I would like to know if anyone has a recommendation for a similiar type unlocked phone that a teen would really like that would use Edge. He now has the Sidekick ID but is it so slow. Thanks!
