You have several options for data:

1.  Call Retentions and ask for the Preferred Android plan.  It is $20 a month,
and has a soft cap at 5GB.
2. The new, unlimited plan.  I think it's $30 or $35.
3. Depending on usage, T-Mobile has other options for light users of data.

      Jack,

You will have to have a data plan with the Android device.

Subject: [T-Mobile-US] BlackBerry monthly charges

I got a BlackBerry in 2009 when that was the only option for sending and
receiving email from a T-Mobile handset. I'm now considering an upgrade to
Android.

My T-Mobile bill contains a $25 line item for BlackBerry service. I assume that
covers the BlackBerry Messenger, and routing of all TCP traffic through RIM's
servers in Montreal (why?).

If I give up my BlackBerry, with which I have a love/hate relationship, and
substitute, say, a Samsung Galaxy S III, will there be a similar monthly
charge? Or will my new handset pay for itself in about a year?
