With 9.0/trunk i kept getting the errors. I've been running 2.66+hotfix patch, but had to patch pkgconfig's pkg.m4 as well. The system is behaving well so far, nothing abnormal so far. I don't understand what exactly what's going on with autoconf 2.66, 2.67 and pkgconfig. There was no way i could build any poppler version (0.14.x) without patching pkg.m4, unless i used autoconf 2.65. I might do another build soon to try a couple of things, so i'll report how it goes, as well as any problems that might arise from the patched pkg.m4, but so far everything seems fine and the machine in question has been under load building packages for some time.
