Hi,

if that really is the case it may have been a bug the bash maintainers fixed 
since in a subsequent path-level since I last tested it.

The argument list too long I have not seen in a long time. Which kernel do you 
run? The Linux kernel removed some long standing Unix limitation of fixed 
argument list limit around 2.6.2x something (AFAIRC).
