As a follow-up to this thread, I am happy to report that Quirky Linux 6.1.4 is T2-compatible "out of the box". I did a pristine install of 6.1.4 and ran T2 rev 43395. No problem, raced right through, got first failure at stage 1 with the 'man' package -- but that is a problem with the package itself and I will report separately about that. Quirky 6.1.4 can be got from here: http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/quirky6/x86/quirky-6.1.4/ ...there is an file that you download, and a script to install it to a partition, which also generates a suggested grub entry.
