Just a note on what's happening with this thread work.

1- I've finally changed to using the r49198 iso with the addition of xz and lzip packages and a 'few' tweeks with a diff file.

2- I've gone back to using T2 at r49158 with a few modifications as the later one 'just bugged out on me too much'. Additions to r49158, such as adding linux54 (kernel 5.4.20) and the matching linux-firmware54 ( linux-firmware-20200122.tar.gz) release, with a pile of .conf changes and package relocations seems to be working. Reason why these two in particular is that we use a lot of script in Puppylinux Quirky and the linux kernel 5.5.x has some changes that will cause a lot of rewriting, which I don't intend doing at present, plus the 5.4.xx series is LTS so should still be around for quite some time yet, at least until I have a working Quirky T290 system running for a few years.

It means i'm well past just a 20-minimum build (built sucessfully) and are now working through a complete puppy linux buildset of some 623 packages. I'm at 5-linux54 at present and some 21hrs of uninterupted build, running one package at a time as i'm only using a core2duo and don't want to overheat it.

When I have completed this I will do a write-up, including,

1- /target/generic/pkgsel/60-t290-64.in;
2- the matching /config/t29064/packages package (?or maybe the whole directory); 3- the two /package/base/linux54 and /package/firmware/linux-firmware54 packageset directories;
4- a svn diff of the r49158 tree as I have modified it;
5- ?

I will at that point end this thread and using a new download start again with a new thread and create a 'final' packageset to build a "Puppy Quirky T290". I shall of course, see what needs to be added/changed and start a build again with a 20-minimal, as r49158 is now already getting 'long-in-the-tooth' thanks to Rene and his robot :-)}.

At least that's my idea at present, I may change and create a Easypup T290 instead. Easypup is a Barry Kauler created cross between a Puppy Linux and EasyOS, his latest creation with inbuilt containers. And creating a T2 version of Easypup is slightly appealing at this point, although i'd really like to put all the work so far with a Quirky T290 to a actual build. EDIT: I just looked back in my mail archive out of curiosity and it shows I started this back in 2014! Start and stop of course as work permitted, but didn't realise it was that long ago.

Anyway, I'm not sure what else I should supply to enable anyone to duplicate at this point or use the results of my work, any sugestions what i've missed or could be worth adding?

OTHER THINGS:
I'll also give notice for those with my mail in their address books, that i'm due to change url's at the end of the month as lamiaworks.com.au will disolve and lamiaworks.net.au will appear, the .com.au was my old business url which had everything in and i'm finally shutting down as i've retired and am sorting out the 'business related stuff to deal with' the .net.au has been sitting in the background awaiting like a phoenix to arrise-from-the-ashes for many years. The .com won't dissapear for long, as I have other ideas for it, but it won't be linux related.

And yes, Rene, i'll try a change of address iff it lets me, or do I ask you, i've sent a message off to the lists owner.

regards to all
scsijon
