This is interesting. I found it very puzzling when I first got interested
in this craft. I have never heard weaving on a piece of cardboard called
card weaving in America - always "weaving on cardboard". And the word
tablet to me means a stack of paper glued to a cardboard backing, so the
phrase "tablet-weaving" has always sounded peculiar. So I suppose to a
Brit, "card" is ambiguous and "tablet" is not, while to an American just
the reverse is true. I wonder if there are any other crafts where this type
of naming conflict exists?
