Ah but... what about the terribly fun technique where you interchange 
packs of tablets while weaving? That makes a solid woven band WITH 
oblique elements. :) There are a couple pictures of this on my web page. 
The final product looks like a braid, and _everyone's_ first reaction is 
to try to pull the "strands" apart, but it is actually a solid 
(one-piece) band. 

Okay, I realize that I probably shouldn't do things like this on Monday 
morning BEFORE my second cup of coffee, but...
