Guido, have you tried weaving designs in 2-strand warp twining? There is an example of a band collected in Sumatra, along my technical reproduction, and a few details about how I wove it at <http://www.lindahendrickson.com/sumatra-reproduction.htm>. Some TWeavers may not yet realize that more complex designs can be created when using *fewer* threads rather than more per tablet, because you have greater control over individual threads. I find it more interesting to weave designs in which I need to turn individual tablets in each row to create a design. Weaving with just 2 threads per tablet will give you a lot of design freedom. Have you tried weaving with wire, or using a reed to space out the tablets and create soft, drapeable scarves? There are many unexplored possibilities using different weave structures, or a combination of structures, including gauze weave, warp twining and basket weave.
