Stockinette graphs will adapt much easier to tablet
weaving than cross stitch graphs will.  They are still
not as long as a tablet weaving stitch - if I recall
correctly, they are nearly twice as tall as they are
wide, and the tablet weaving DF "unit" is about three
times as long as wide, so there will still be some
distortion, but not as much as using a square graph. 
If you can get a graph paper that is 3:1 in long
narrow strips, it works great - My Dad and I designed
some using AutoCad, before I got the stitchery
program.
