Those are pretty good pictures, Mel.  Thanks for sharing them.  However, I do think that the close-ups I get with my 35 mm and slide film are better and show detail clearer, but I'm only basing my conclusion on the two pictures you sent.  It appears that for normal photographic needs, a digital is right there with a 35 mm camera.  I'm still not convinced about the extreme shots, however.  Thanks again for discussing this, Mel.
