It's not heresy, I don't think, but it doesn't work, either. Most tablet weaving involves at least a bit of warp twining, and you can't get that on a "regular" loom, which only has an up-and-down and not a rotary movement. (A few structures can be duplicated, of course.) Now, the opposite is not true - anything that can be woven on a 4-harness loom can be woven using tablets with two warp threads in adjacent holes. :) Actually, _anything_ that can be woven can be woven with tablets, but the contortions involved make it not worth it in a lot of cases.
