There are pros and cons to yahoo groups (mostly to do with privacy and
copyright issues), but there actually already is a fairly active
tablet-weaving list there:

Once upon a time, this was the list for modern stuff, and that was the
list for historic stuff, but it seems that over time that became the
list for everything. Certainly there are many people who contribute
who aren't in the SCA, and it has become a much more active list than
this one. There's also a lot of cross-posting of important
information.

I'd kind of hate to see this list go away, but if going to only one
list means that people are more active and aren't splitting their
energies, it might be worth it.

But how would I sign my name then? :)
