Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques

While I learned about tabletweaving through the SCA, I've tried to spread it
outside of the society as well.
We have an annual day of classes for the general public where I've been
teaching tablet weaving classes for about 8 years.
I'm also a highschool chemistry teacher, and while that doesn't allow too
much leeway to introduce TW, I usually bring out my samples at least once
over the year. (and this year I had them do a lab on dyes and textiles)
Just last week, I was a guest lecturer for a family studies class. While
most of the kids weren't all that interested (not surprising - last period
on the friday of a long weekend), the teacher did have four kids come up to
her and ask if I was coming back.

So I think the future is in friendship bracelets and belts to start, and
then we'll probably start seeing them on the fashion runway again.

For those of you who haven't been on the SCA weaving list, I highly
recommend going into their photos and see what everyone else has been up
to - same reason that I always look forward to my next TWIST. :-)
